I have a 1942 Farmall A with a Super A motor in it. i was wondering if there was a way to get a few more ponies outta her. as of right now she has had the governor worked on and spins a little faster than stock. i have 9.5 inch tires on the rear now and am looking to upgrade to 11.2"s and would like a little more power to turn them. any suggestion are appreciated

3 1/8" dome piston over bore kit. The Super A and the A engine are the same, aside from high rpm and it has a place for a hydraulic pump.

Some of the later Super A blocks would take a 3 1/4 over Bore kit (Super C kit) and the Rpms are the same as a straight A. The Super A has a better head that a regular A or B. A 140 head will boost compression!
My Super A puts out 26hp and my B will put out 32 but it has had a little more work done to the head.

Yeah, you need a post 52 SA block if I recall. Or a Super A1 block, they have the same internals as a SC but with lower RPMs.

You can always have the bottom of the block bored out to 3 7/16 (plus about 5 thou)and put the Super C kit in it! Adds another 10 cid!
Thats what I did to my B and it runs pretty good!
If you can get ahold of a Cam from a C-153 or that later 135's it will give you more lift and perk it up a litte more!

You could also try regapping your plugs to 0.28 and cleaning out the orignal air cleaner. I pull the screen out of mine andput 2 foam disks made from a snow mobile air filter.
If you can get your tractor on a dyno you could see what your Hp is before and after and also get your timing dialed in a little better.
Check out Webers tractor works and look under the tune up specs.
