I have traded for a Farmall C tractor that was put out in 1949.
I need to find out what the guages and dails are for.
Also there is no dipstick. I know that sounds dumb but I cannot find it. Can you help this ole dummy

Look on the left side of oil pan there is two small pet-cocks not very far apart one for full one for low . As long as oil comes out the lower one you are ok.
E-mail me about the gages

How did they sell a tractor that something so simple as checking oil is made unhandy? Dad has a C farmsmall. How hard would it have been to put a dipstick on the engine. Every Allis I've ever been around from the old 1934 WC on up had a dipstick. Don't mention oil filters.

If you ever listen to somebody tell you "it's a gallon low" and overfill an engine that has a dipstick (thereby requiring a ceremonial blood-letting to make it safe to run it) you'll be glad it has an upper petcock.

If You or anyone else u know that buys Any old Farmall tractor None of them have dipsticks, there all on the oil pan like other stated. & ya makes handy oil check atleast your not going to lose your dipstick or have someone steal it on a farmall.....

Have yet to have to do that Dan. So if I did happen to do that say even once a year (very doubtful) I still have to check the oil every time I run the thing. I'll take the dipstick method.

Doubtful,Farmall had a big manual.I bought a used manual for my Ford for 3.50.There should be reprints available.I used to sell books and stocked tractor manuals. They were slow sellers. In any case you need a manual so dont fuss over cost.
