Farmall Cub replacement Radiators?

I have a early 50s Farmall cub and am researching replacement radiators. Does anyone have experience with any particular brand of aluminum replacements. A lot of complaints on good fit on various replacements. There is some info on a good non aluminum radiator that was made in Ireland but it does not seem to be available at the moment. Any feedback appreciated. Just FYI a recore of mine is not really cost justified.

Search Walt’s tractor parts radiator if link won’t work .

What I saw in previous comments was the new radiator was approximately 1/2 short. Copy lower gasket onto some cut out flat stock to give correct height for upper hose use two gaskets .
This cost to job spacer out as much as the recore ,your choice.

I bought one several years ago for my 47 Cub. I don't recall for sure where I got it but I think it was Farmall Parts. They offered 2 and one they called "restoration quality" and of course it cost more. I took a chance on it and fortunately it fit correctly. I was worried the bolt holes wouldn't line up correctly but everything did. Maybe I was just lucky.

Call JP tractor. He probably has a good original. Great folks to deal with

Replacement radiators for Cubs have become a crapshoot (emphasis on the crap). It has been reported that once reliable sources suddenly start providing junk. The ones from Ireland seem to be in that category.

Adding a spacer under a short radiator, as suggested by 560Dennis does not work out. The spacer would also raise the side plates 1/2 inch. The hood/tank is supported by the side plates, raising the front of the hood the same amount. At that point, the dog-legs and grill would all be 1/2 inch too short to reach from the front bolster to the hood.

If JP does not have a good used one, they can supply a new replacement. I have seen recent positive comments about theirs. (Maybe they are inspecting theirs and rejecting the really bad ones themselves rather than leaving that task to the customer. I don't know.)

I recently replaced one on my 53 with a new one. Ordered it from that company that sends a few cow tails with the orders.

The one I got wasn't welded sqaure to the base. It tilted to the fan a little bit. At first I thought it wasn't going to work because it was hitting the fan, but found out my fan was sitting too high. (Wrong belt). Ended up working just fine.

I second buying an original used one from jp tractor. I've purchased a few cub things from them. Great people!

Not sure why you want aluminum, maybe price? I got one from the site for my 8N and it fit perfectly, as did the fuel tank I got for my 850
