i found a farmall cub for sale.it runs good, the back tires are in like new condition, the fronts are ok.the sheet metal is in fair shape.the only thing it needs is some starter work.it also has a belly mower and a grader blade that mounts on the belly also.how much is this tractor worth?

Depends. The older offset cub lowboys bring the most, the older cub rowcrop offsets come in second along with the red 185s. For some reason the 154s and the 184s (without 3 point) are usually the cheapest.

In Kansas and Missouri a good running older cub with a mower will bring $2000 to $2500 at a well attended auction.

Here in my part of PA, running Cubs w/decent rubber fetch anywheres from $1000 to $2500, depending on condition and implements. Cub LoBoys do generally bring a bit more than the standard Cubs.

Could've bought a 1950-ish "standard" Cub last summer for $1500 that had new rear tires, good fronts, recently-overhauled engine (gaskets/sealants obvious), new clutch and decent tin, no mower or other equipment. All it really needed was a better carb rebuild (drippy) and a paint job.

I paid less than $3000 for a 1977 184 LoBoy, (they're the RED ones) within the past two years. It has creeper, factory 3 point hitch, snow plow and the 60" IH belly mower. Good condition all around, runs like a champ. Without the creeper and 3 point, these things are just big lawn mowers and are of little use for anything else.

Actually, they don't even make decent lawn mowers with the creeper gear...in my opinion. ;o)

Oops...meant to say they don't even make decent lawn mowers WITHOUT the creeper. My 184 will handle some pretty nasty stuff, but only when in "low range".

Mowed large areas years ago with a 154 that only had a 3 speed. Could not handle grass much higher than 6-8 inches without a tussle, because the ground speed in first gear was too fast.

I'm looking to buy 2 cubs, a '74 $ a '77. Both running. 1 has a working belly mower and the other just the deck and all the pulleys and brackets. Tin pretty good. $2500 for both. New tires and new paint will add $650 each.
