Farmall H block height

If anyone can help,What is the height of a H block from crankshaft centerline to the top of the block,assuming the block has not had the deck machined.Or how does one properly measure to get this figure. Thanks Rich

Put end maincap on without bearing. Measure the bore of it and divide that number by 2. Use 16" or larger caliper and measure from top of crankshaft bore to top edge of block. Add both numbers together.

Rounded straight edge across the upper main bearing bores measured from it to block deck, plus the upper main bearing shell thickness, plus one half crank main journal diameter. Maybe add one or two thousands for oil film between crank and bearing if wanting perfect.

12.625 from crank centerline to top of the block. not to the top of the sleeve flange. chad
