I am not sure, but it could have 16.9 x38 tires on tires on the rear, i got 14.9x38 on mine, and this does look bigger!!!! so maybe they are.

Yup - that's a 1468 pedal tractor spare hung on the side rail.

And if you look closely the pedal tractor has it's own tiny 1468 hung on it's side...

Tires were definitely bigger than 14.9's (I have 14.9 x 38's on my Super M too)

Incidentally this SM and mine left the factory in Louisville within a few days of each other....their serial numbers are only 100 or so apart.

That H on steel was probably made shortly after my grandfathers H which was one of the last on rubber due to WWII. I still have it, running great after 80 years. Those old binder trucks were beauties too.

BOB - Farmall was only sending parts enough to LVL to build 50 SM's a day. There was a guy in Production Forecasting near my desk who's first job at FARMALL was torquing heads on Farmall Regular's. He had been around during EVERY new model Start-up ever made at FARMALL, including the switch from 86-series to 5088, 5288, 5488, 3088, 3288, 3488, & 3688. And from the 33,35,& 3788's to 63, 65, & 6788's.
Herschel Smith was his name. Just crazy the amount of history about Farmall he knew.
