anyone ever use an 450 lp head with the original m&w 5.75 stroker crank.

that would really work good with flat pistons . give you a compression ratio of 9 to 1 and about 220 static pressure . may run on high test pump gas .

Andy,we have a 450 engine with the 5.75 crank and the original M+W Domed stroker pistons that came with it,using the 450 gas head.Works real well,very dependable,have run it for lots of years never touch it.Never tried an LP head,should have bought one back when they were cheap.

I have one with the M&W crank, 4.25 M&W pistons with a propane head. Runs good on av gas and makes good power.

Get the compression up on the farmalls between 12.5 to 13.5 and then your getting somewhere.
