I ground a load of corn last night, and realized that I absolutely love my old 800 diesel. It doesn't owe me anything. I paid $400 for it 5 years ago. Other then putting a couple new rubbers in the fuel line compression fittings, oil and fuel, I have not spent a dime on her. The COM is a whole bunch more user friendly then my 830. Biggest problem is the Eagle Hitch was robbed off of it long before I got it, and it doesn't have NEAR the power the 830 has.
I do have the last new tractor my Granddad bought. A '54 DC4, an 830 diesel COM and an Allis 7045, that just sits. Outa all of them I prefer to run the 800!!

They are fun to drive ,,. You are Lucky ,I paid that much for mine 25 yrs ago and spent 2500.. but SHE sure Looks nice .. my favorites depends on the job I am doing ,, I guess all aroud favorite would be any triple range power steering equiped diesel

Pretty hard to choose only one and I apologise because I'm not only a case man but I only enjoy reading the Case forum. So favourite to look at and listen to pulling hard is a Case 500, my favourite to drive is a Field Marshall series 2, favourite to start is my P model (45HP) Lanz Bulldog.

I'm with you 100%, that 800 is hard to beat. I bought mine with my dad when I was in 5th or 6th grade for $500, it had the high-range out of it. we tore it down, cleaned it up and had it repainted. It has since had to have an overhaul, and did have to be split to fix that high-range (I believe it was a snap ring gone bad), otherwise couldn't be happier. My only complaint is i wish the hydrolics were a little quicker, like on the 30-series. Always wished either our 730 or 830 had the Case-O-Matic on it, I like how those Comfort Kings sit up higher too.

My 800 only has one gear shifter. An old neighbor also has an 800, and his is set up like my 830, with a range shifter. I kinda like just having 1 stick.

My 800 needs the seat restored, the power steering fixed, an injector rebuilt, the PTO clutch fixed, finders repaired, and the eagle hitch cylinder eats O-rings, but I sure do like to do things with it. The problem is, I also like my 300, and a VAC, and the 630.........Well, pretty much any case tractor I get to drive!

My favorite is the 1370, nice and smooth with plenty of power, second would be my 54 sc, then 53 dc, then the 1030, then the 800, followed by the vac and 930. I also loved our 2470 but sadly it is gone!

Love my 800, needs pto fixed, power steering fixed and paint. A seat would be nice too. Great tractor to drive. I'd love an 830 diesel COM.

I don't know which in my case tractors I like better, but I'm kinda partial to my 1030 and one ofis my VAC's. At 1030 is comfortable to drive all day, but the VAC has a wide front and Eagle Hitch with a remote valve so it's just as handy.
