Just interested in what your favorite tractor may be . Why's and whynots? My fav has got to be a AC WD45 ., Dads ran for ever. still does most of the work on the farm, Except plowing and discing.

Favorite for fieldwork was my 856 Farmall. Favorite for sentimental reasons is my H because it's been in the family 50 years.

Ford 960. Pretty much ran this farm after dad brought it home, learned to drive tractor on it. Has live pto, hyd, & a 3pt, power steering. so tho older it has the good stuff.

That part about learning to drive on it probably is the good part of course....

I checked Google Images and got 3 hits, but none of 'em were pictures. Usta be several experts on the ETD that posted on here, but haven't seen 'em in a while..........Jake from Jake's Corner, Yukon and Alberta Mike come to mind, 'though there were others.

Farmall Super C that I learned how to drive as a kid.

Kept the farm mowed with a Bush Hog (mfg) mower. Still have the mower and the IH disk.

My neighbor now owns the tractor and tills his "truck patch" with it every year.

I agree that being "big enough" to drive a tractor as a kid was something to be proud of.

Great memories from driving that red tractor.

I think the government confiscated all the pictures of the ETD and made it a felony to have a picture in your position.

My most favorite tractor of all has to be the Oliver 77.
The first tractor I worked in the field 62 years ago was an Allis C. I have become fond of the Allis B in the last few years.
I really liked to run my Oliver 1850 in the field when I was still farming my farm.

How'd you know what position I wuz in; are you looking back thru my monitor at me again? I saw them black helicopters again Sunday night............well, I didn't actually see 'em, but they were there, all right!!!!!!!

the one that i like the best as a kid was the one that i could get started, without a dead battery and without flooding it.......

the one i like now is the one that starts and doesn't need anything too serious fixed at the moment......

and nowadays, the best one is the one that doesn't any fuel

AND JUST HOW DID YOU FIGURE THAT OUT ??

I kind of am impartial to some of the Fords, hundred and thousand series, we used to sell them, always liked the looks of the hundred series and some of the heavier industrial models. I have also liked the 300-400 JD's in yellow, and some of the odd utility sized JD's, they look like something I'd enjoy using. All the MFR's have a few that get my attention in this size, the International/Farmall also had a good line of utility sized ones. It would be really cool to have been able to compare that class, they all look the part, I'll just take one of each !

For practicality I really like the older utility size tractors, fords up to the 90's and most others in that size range going back, say with a stout loader, having most of the features you need. Versatility is most important to me, might not be MFR specific, unless considering fuel economy or something that one MFR gave you over another that you really need. It has to suit the purpose you need it for and perform well enough to satisfy the need in my eyes, though I'd enjoy having 1 that was completely tore down and restored, just hard to not use them.

Well heck I like em all actually, 'cept narrow fronts on side hills !!! Like when I was an equipment operator, I don't care what you wanted me to run, I'll make it work and enjoy doing it !

Mine is a Farmall 400
With a fast hitch, independent pto, TA, Live hydralics and a wide front. It is just about the perfect tractor for small square baleing.

Just the right power for the tools
Just the right speed to run them
And fair fuel economy.

#1 IH 1206,806,706 deisels WF
Always loved the John Deere 730 Deisels, the look and the sound, not to mention fuel economy.

I like my Case LA small enough to get on with out a step ladder and big enough to do hard work.

My dad"s JD 48 A which is now mine. It was the first tractor I ever drove and I"m partial to it because it was my daddy"s. Like my little M real well and our "big boy" the 70 diesel with a pony motor, too.

190XT Series III Landhandler w/duals and precleaner or a 7045 w/remote mirrors, stadium lights and duals. Sweeeet!

Love both my 1944 Oliver 60 Standard that my Dad bought me in 1960 and my 1959 John Deere 435 he bought in 1961. Both are still used around our place every week!

I'm in deep trouble now!

403 CID 4 cylinder with high compression head. I can still crank her but you would be surprised how many young guys can't do it.

My 1948 JD D, not because it's operator friendly, just because there's nothing that sounds like an old D under a heavy load. It's mechanically perfect, but will never be restored 'cause I just love to hear it work. Then there's my 1948 Allis B that my dad bought new, and I grew up on. Then there's the first tractor I ever bought, my 1940 JD H, then there's ............ Aw heck, I love 'em all.
Paul

I like my 1958 Case flat nose 311-B tractor. Not to little and not real big. Pulls a 6' brush hog and has rear blade and hay forks. Runs real pretty and now that I have new clutch in it. Drives out good. Had to recently replace it. *S

To 20 Ferguson that my dad bouhgt new.First tractor That my brothers and I learned to drive.Spent my share of time polishing that steel seat with my b*tt cutting 150 acres of hay with a 7' sickle mower!

Cockshutt 40 they just look and sound cool JD 720 diesel next in line almost makes fuel it runs so cheap, just dont break it or it will break you. LOL

My AC WD. Just because it's the only tractor I own. Most of my family has or had WC, WD, and WD-45s. Great tractors. I love mine to pieces.

Ive got 5 and cant make up my mind.A case830 com diesel,case 520 ind.diesel 1947 JD A,39 JD H,and a 49 MH Pony. Im just gettin started! {bout 10yrs now} Later Hoss

My Favorite tractor is my 1943 Farmall H, It is also very special because it was my Grandpa's tractor. My Grandpa died in 1998 and now I own the tractor. I'm 15 and I restored it. It starts and runs excellent and it is the perfect tractor for me. I like the Farmall H tractors for several reasons, too many to list! One reason is because it is not too big and not too small and it is easy on fuel. I used my H alot today and it works great. I have a IH 25-V Sickle mower and a IH #30 loader with manure and snow buckets. My H is a great tractor and I will never get rid of it. I'm also fixing up a 1949 John Deere A and I bought a 1938 F-20 Farmall.

Andy.

I've always been sorta partial to this'n! 1971 MF150 diesel, 8-speed. I've owned it since new. Just a tick over 3200 hrs. 38hp originally, turned up to 47hp and left that way for the last 35 years. I decided 2 years ago to make it look as new as possible again. It's the most dependable thing I've ever owned.

Favorite tractor that I never owned would probably be a 1066 IH

You actually got to drive one!! I wouldn't go mentioning that.... you forget THEY are always watching and soon will be knockin!! How was it? Couldn't imagine driving something like that

All our pictures are on the newer computer. I used it to upload. Even though I opened a new browser, it loaded under James' name. Oh well, its all in the family.

That cranking a tractor is like proping a airplane. You need to know how or they bite!!!!!!!!! Fayorite Case tractor is my 1964 830com.

Any and all antique gas farm tractors. Had Ford 4000, Ford 2N, Farmall Cub, Farmall A. Still have Cub and A, not enough room and won't let em out in the rain.

I'd have to say a Massy Harris 30 for working and a Farmall Cub for gardening. We had others but I think these were the most user friendly. rw

Ford 8N with a sherman over and under. It can go down that road fast, its stable in the ditches, the thing is just so handy around the yard with the 3pt, and for moving stuff with the front hitch.

I will admit though that I love the sound and power of our 1600 Oliver, especially when baling hay.

I like mine too. But yes they are one hard shifting SOB's
Ever notice though that they shift real easy until you need it to shift easy?
Then blam wount come out of rev until you ether ramed the implement or just get mad enough.

I like AC WD45. Over 50 years old and still runs good. That was the first tractor I ever drove. I hope to get the old 2 bottom plow on it and plow the garden this year. has to stop raining first though. maybe I'll take a pic of the plowing and try to put it on here.
