Feedback on YT radiators?

I"ve got a 5" hairline crack in the tank of the radiator of my 9N. I spread a little J&B weld on it and it"s holding pretty well, but I really need to replace the rad. I"ve read the posts here, but was wondering if anyone had some feedback on the heavy duty rad specifically sold through this site. Any information on the fit, quality, manufacturer and delivery time would be appreciated. This is the absolute best site for 9/8/2N information out there and I appreciate the information the "regulars" provide. You help keep our old tractors going.

I bought the one for $139.00 and I had to cut my shroud up to get it to fit..the bottom of the radiator has slots that square nuts fit in..the original rad had nuts incorporated in the bottom of the tank. Im not sure yet how its going to work out but maybe the heavy duty is different..hope it stays put once I get the front end back together. Delivery time was about 4 days.

Thanks for the information - let us know how it goes. The old radiator I have has the bottom mounting bolts as part of the radiator as well. My 9N however has no fan shroud - I dont think the 9N came with one.

Radiator (Includes Winged Radiator Cap & Bolting Kit)

From just 8n's...loos pretty beefy

with such a small crack you can save lots and guarantee a good fit if you just have it soldered up by your local shop. If the rad is otherwise stable, this way would sure be lots less headache. luck

I can't comment on the fit and quality of the radiator, but every order I've placed here has fit perfectly and been delivered promptly.
I ordered a new oil drain cap (screen was missing) and some miscelanoeus gaskets last Tuesday.
Had the parts Friday.
Installed Saturday.
Can't ask for any better.

Sand it down, paste flux it up and solder it.. or repalce it... JB weld won't hold reliabley under expansion / contraction..

Patching the one you now have should hold since even the pressurized caps only are for 4 lbs. of pressure. But I would clean and solder if possible.

if you cleaned the area real good, and scuffed it with heavy grit sandpaper, and mixed the jb good, all you need to do is work that tractor for another 60 tears. the patch will last longer than the sheetmetal you put it on. RP

Bought radiator from YT think it was Rasa brand or somthing like that about a year ago. Well built ,fit good so far so good. Good Luck!

I appreciate all the posts. I'd like to keep the original rad and have had it repaired on two different occasions. Each time, the repair shop fixed it, wished me "good luck" and wanted me to understand there were no guarantees - although the last time I had it in was probably 5 years ago. The tank on top looks to be brass. I've got a field that's tall in grass that I'll shred tomorrow and work it hard and see how much it leaks. BTW Ray, was that the standard rad you purchased or the heavy duty?

I bought one of the better one's from this site, the fit was fine and delivery was second day. Quality seems very good (mfg. was RASA/Turkey) hard to find "Made in USA" any more. Petcock is on opposite side but don't see that will cause any problems!

After some hard work with the shredder, the old radiator started spraying again, so I decided to order a new one from this website. I called the order in on Tuesday and it was already here today on Thursday! Looks like a good unit, although the filler neck looks quite a bit taller than the original. The tank is a little flatter on top so hopefully the overall height will be the same. Some of you guys indicated a good fit with this RASA brand. I'll let you know how it installs.
