Finally putting posts in. Damn cows keep knocking old one over, so I’m putting in strong fences in. About 500 feet of pipe fence. Them cows won’t be knocking that over.

Not during breeding season. The bulls will kill each other. I have my 1st calf heifers on one side of a 30 acre pasture and the experienced cows on the other. You can always leave the gate open. At least then they will not tear up the fence
We use a very hot wire inside a poor barb wire fence for range cows and they give no problem. Once they know what a hot fence is even the bulls don’t touch it.Finally putting posts in. Oh I am printing that out and sending it to the Gulf Coast Cattleman. They will get a kick out of it.
We used electric wire when the cattle found an opening. We used a 12' galvanize roofing panel over the creek in the fence-line. We once had a huge Angus bull that threw very good calves, but he was always looking for a weak spot in the fence. He found that he could just push the roofing panel up and walk under. Well I attached a battery-powered fence charger to that panel and watched. All i use is one or two electric wires.
