I have have to boost my tractor every time to start,my battery is charged and terminals are clean and tight ,what should i be doing,after starting she runs great.

Check that the ground lead is making a good contact. If it is still attached to the back of the Dash Panel, move it to one of the bolts close to the starter as the Dash will now be insulated by rust after all these years and not making a good connection. It could also be the Safety Switch on top of the clutch housing below the battery. slacken off the four screws that hold it to the housing and gently push it forward and tighten it up. Slacken the battery leads on the safety switch and move them about to clean them up or remove them altogether and clean them, then tighten them up again....John

What John said. Also, if it is 6 volts, make sure you have the large diameter battery cables, size 0 or 1. If you do as John suggests and move the ground cable, you will have to buy a longer cable anyhow, so make sure you get a 0 or 1. Not all auto stores carry the big diameter cables, but persevere. The bell housing bolts make a good place to attach.

I had 00 guage cables made at my local starter/alternator shop. My tractor starts in any weather.

Morning Dan.. My 52 TEA-2085 acts the same as yours does. I have to boost it everytime I go to use her. I didnt realize that one needed the bigger battery cabele I will get bigger ones for sure. I will also move my connection from the back of the dash to a more secure connection on the tractor as John suggests. Once I boost her and she is running all is fine.
