Finding 140wt. GL-1

I have found 90wt. GL-1 at TSC but the manual for my Unstyled John Deere A says that I need 140 weight oil for my transmission. I need to find 140 weight GL-1 somewhere and I don't know where to look.

Or, would it be OK to use the 90 weight? The book says 32 degrees and below use 90 weight and above 32 degrees use 140 weight. 95% of my operation is above 32 degrees.

So, where can I find 140wt. GL-1? And, is the 90wt. too light for my operation if I have to use it? (Mainly just driving around but there is some disking, plowing, pulling combine)

Any good auto supply (O'Reilly, NAPA) or tractor supply should have the 140W. I have bought both at Orscheln's in Missour and NAPA for my tractors.

I got my 140w GL-5 from a Shell distributor. $35 for 5 gallons. You'll probably get feed back concerning GL-1 & GL-5. That's what it called for in my tractor and that's what I got.

I went to my local gas and oil distributor. The folks that haul gas, fuel to the farmers and he ordered it for me. It was not much more expensive than TSC on the 90 weight.

GL-4 Marine and it has to be marine GL-4, is the best in old equipment where GL-1 is speced. It provides superior wear protection,corrosion protection and tolerates being mixed with rain water, condensation and fresh/salt water leaking in through seals.
GL-4 Marine does not attack copper based metals found in some transmissions.
140wt will leak & dribble slower than 90wt.
