I heard and saw the fire trucks go by yesterday, so my Wife called her sister who has a scanner and went to watch--It was a mile and a half East and a half mile south of our place. By the time we got there they had it about out--It looks like a stalk chopper was to blame--no bales lost and just a few stalks and 5-10 acres of bean stubble--the wind was blowing at 25-30 mph. Two weeks ago, the local fire chief asked area farmers to hook their tillage equipment up and leave it at the ready--Good thing some did for it is drier than a popcorn fart around here!!---Tee
