I heard and saw the fire trucks go by yesterday, so my Wife called her sister who has a scanner and went to watch--It was a mile and a half East and a half mile south of our place. By the time we got there they had it about out--It looks like a stalk chopper was to blame--no bales lost and just a few stalks and 5-10 acres of bean stubble--the wind was blowing at 25-30 mph. Two weeks ago, the local fire chief asked area farmers to hook their tillage equipment up and leave it at the ready--Good thing some did for it is drier than a popcorn fart around here!!---Tee

We've had a couple sprinkles of a tenth or 2 since September. Fine with me for now. Had enough mud last year at this time to suit me for now. If it will hold off till we get the corn done suits me. Was so muddy last year the grain cart sat on the headland and only got used to get grain from there to the truck on a solid drive into a field.

Dry here in NY. Just had a couple days of wind and wildfire warnings. One brush fire that I know of

We had .09 inches of rain from 9-1 to early last week. Then got .25 and yesterday got a good rain. had almost an inch when it got dark don't know total till sun comes up today.

Thunderstorm with a fair amount of rain came through last night here in mid-MO; I haven't been out yet to assess the outcome. More rain predicted for the weekend. All very welcome!

We finally received some rain but still very dry here in central wisconsin. Farmers are being asked to please leave a disc harrow hooked to a unused tractor in case being asked for fire protection help.

Fire came through here Tuesday. Fairly common this time of year. Not a damn thing you can do about it, but stand there and watch it.

Thank God it just rained today here in East Texas, But I still keep my water buffalo at the ready.
You folks ever recover from the cattle selloff a few years back? Was a bad time from what I hear. Up here in OK, we're lookin' at an ongoing drought........but not near as bad as back in around 2011/2012.
