working on a oliver cleatrac engine there is no firing order on the block but engine is a HG 68 four cylinder any info would be a great help mike

call Zimmerman in Ephrata, Pa. phone number is 717-738-2573. he has all the books for the Cletrac models

To start with get #1 on compression stroke and see where the rotor in the mag points. Remember on ly 2 firing orders for 4 cylinder engine. 1-2-4-3 or 1-3-4-2. So if you get #1 right #4 will be straight across from it. 2 and 3 will be in between. If it misses turn those 2 around. I will look here in the morning if no one answers you. J.

thanks guys will try in the morning cant phone the guy in pa will cost more than the little engine is worth but thanks anyway the engine is flat head with # 1 and #4 at the top at the same time #2 and# 3 are opposite the firing order you gave me of 1243 i have not tried did try 1324 now sitting here on the comp your 1243 makes scence cause you cant have1342 with opposed pistons can you thanks mike ps which is #1 front of engine or rear on these cleatrac

Firing order is 1-2-4-3. Mag rotor rotation should be clockwise when viewed from the rear. #1 is in front. All 4 cylinder 4 stroke engines have 1 & 4 , then 2 & 3 as paired cylinders.
