fixing oil passage crack

got my 6000 to run and noticed a small leak around the oil sending unit. upon further checking, found the port the sender goes in is cracked. anybody fix one of these andhow did you do it? crack goes all the way through the threads so dont think a helicoil will work.

I have a suggestion, would wrapping the threads good with Teflon tape work, or maybe some pipe dope? Just a thought

You could try liquid pipe dope, Locktite - make a gasket or Locktite 515 sealant. Remove all oil, carefully clean what you can of the treads and apply the dope to the crack and the oil sender, re tighten, let it sit for a day then start it.
If that does not work, do you have enough material to drill and tap it to the next biggest pipe size.
You could then add a bushing bringing it back to the oil sender size.

this is cracked all the way through. the port sticks out from the block and is cracked on the top. was thinking of bronzing it then retapping it. basically, it's like a pipe coming out of the block but it's all part of the block.

I would be inclined to bronze it based on your description... but as has been said, a picture is worth a thousand words.
