I do not see why a ring gear from a DC would not fit a CC flywheel, however there is a difference in the early DC tooth count to the later ones so I would guess that there may be a starter drive change required if you get the late gear. I am going out on a limb on this one and hope you check with John Saeli before you order parts, he will have the books to trace the stuff down. Count the teeth on your gear before you call him.

Did the CC not have a starter, if not most of the blocks did not have an opening to even mount a starter although I suppose maybe some tractors may have been sent with a plugged starter opening, tell us what you have and want to do. Pictures of the magneto side of the tractor would be very helpful.

Im wanting to put a DC engine in my 34 CC. I had one in it already but it blew a head gasket , and bent a connecting rod. I got this engIne which is another DC, but, if possible at 77yrs old, id like to have a starter on it if possible

To add a starter to a 1934 CC you will need a DC engine with a DC flywheel, and you will have to cut part of the DC bell housing out and weld it into the CC bell housing so there is a place to install the starter into.

I will ad the last year or so of CC had a starter option. But scarce as hens teeth.

In my area of Pa. here there are 2 CCs that have added auto flywheels to the bely pulley hub and built bracketing to hold the common Nippon gear reduction starters, looks kind of strange but works very nice. These are not parade queens, tractor pullers use their ingenuity.

I still farm with mine, and use the pulley to cut wood and run a hammermill

On my 39 we had a buck saw mounted to the cultivator brackets, fastened it up for transport, dropped it and put the belt on to use. Certainly would not be OSHA approved I'm sure, no blade guard.

Do you still have it? Was it a round buzz saw blade?

No, probably 3 ft or thereabout, it went with the farm auction. the tractor is the one on my page picture, that is going nowhere! My kids will have to decide its fate.

Looks more and more likie ill be stuck with the crank start. Dont know at 77 how long I can do that
