flywheel studs

my studs on the to30 are looking sad. could i use a grade 8 bolt or a stainless steel bolt, i"m not sure what grade they are. those are my only options locally. the parts book doesn"t list the size, only the lock washer size. if its there, i am blind and will admit it.

I'd guess grade 8, besides why would you want to wake up worrying about another split. That's assuming the 8's are stronger than the stainless.

the 8"s they had were a 1/2 longer. was hoping i could get something local. there"s another supplier who is not open on sat. i"ll give them a try on monday. thanks for the input!

Yes about 2-1/2 years ago I contacted Montes Equipment to get the flywheel studs and his reply to me was go buy hardened bolts they will work fine. That is what I did and at least so far no problem.
