Here is one of the more comical ads I've seen in a while. If the price of scrap is up that high.....every tractor I have is going.

John Deere 80, perfect original never been repainted. Pup starts right up and does not smoke and big engine runs good. Good tight clutch and quite transmission. Can email pictures, sending it to the scrapper next week if I dont sell it. Open to all offers Condition: runs good, great shape Price: 12,500 obo

i was going to comment about that one last night. wow. . .why on earth would anyone scrap something like that? i mean of course he is prob bluffing but still. some things mean nothing to people, and at that price he will prob have it awhile. good luck to him, and if he does scrap it the boneyard hopefully has some common sense and sells it somebody rather than chop it.

I asked him if he would take scrap price plus %20 more, he emailed me saying that a 'scrapper' who was going to part it out who would give $1,500 per ton! Guess he really meant sending it to someone who would tear it down for parting it out...

Holding running & driving decent old tractors hostage to the scrappers isn't respectable in my opinion...

i bought a tractor off these kids a while back. same thing, if it dont bring 500 i will smash it and scrap it. since then ive been seeing them all over at auctions buying them, they usually turn up on ebay with some nnalert story about buying it off the original owner down the road. a lot of guys around here are catchin on.

I'm glad the first few of you guys got the joke! After making all of these ads it's fun to get creative once in a while.

You know what Tyler, I don't care what you think is respectable. Even though I'm pretty young to be doing this hobby there are alot of people who have pretty good respect for me around here. And does your opinion really matter to me? No. As far as selling it to someone who parts them out, I have my connections. I will not part out a tractor like that if I can't help it. I'll part out A's and B's all day long but will not part out stuff like that unless I need to.

And apparently you must like it when I hold tractor hostage since I've gotten in the Green Magazine without even trying twice now. :lol:

Yeah, if your "around here" and "alot" means you then I guess everyone has caught on. You must have bought one of the B's we didn't scrap? If so, then we weren't lying, the other 8-10 did get scraped.

We don't misrepresent our tractors. There's no way you would be able to say you seen us buy this or that and then find it on ebay given that the tractors come from several different states as well as Canada.

I must have missed the joke when I called you on an 830 and I asked you how long ago you owned it and you said about a year when you had really bought it the month before (because I had a chance to buy it).
I must have missed the joke when you state on buyer/seller feedback that you tried to have ebay end your auction when you can yourself.
I must have missed the joke when your 80 and 70 come up on ebay every few weeks.
I must have missed the joke when you pulled the 730 ESs because they had no reserve and werent bringing enough.

1. How did I manage to bid on my own items on ebay? Have any proof? Have you ever read ebays rule? I would not even think of doing that since I could loose all of my selling privileges.

2. Which 830 are you talking about? I did happen to have a personal collect you know, it's not like these tractors only spend a week in my shed. How do you know I bought it the month before?

3. Yes you can end the auction by yourself but if you do not complete all of the steps and miss just one then the auction will not end properly.

4. Now I'm starting to think you have the wrong guy, I sold my last 70 in March. The 80 has been relisted twice. The first time it sold the guy flat out told me he really didn't want it after he won the bid. What was I supposed to do? When he lives 5 hours away I can't make him pay for it. I should have really sent out a second chance offer but I was not thinking.

5. Now I am 100% sure you are made at the wrong guy. I have never sold a 730ES on ebay within the last year. My username is 2-cylinders just in case you are wondering.


So in the future I suggest you get some facts behind your claims before you go off on me like that. [/b]

several sellers, same two kids, saw the one buy a 730 at a sale in polo this spring, a couple weeks later its on ebay. running em up so any of us who would like to keep one for ourselves cant. if you look t the pics you can tell both sellers are at the same place by the backround. working together to run em up on ebay.

Two sellers, two "kids." Each of us have our own ebay account, so what? He buys his tractors I buy mine and we sell them separately.

As far as bidding each other stuff up, we don't do that. It's not fair to the people buying it. Go ahead and say that all you want but you have not presented any proof of us doing that. You see us making money and your just trying to grasp something wrong with it. I would have though some of you guys would be happy to see young kids buying tractors.

If you really wanted one of those 730's you should have bought it at Polo. And we live several miles apart with tractors scattered everywhere there's a shed. I guess our yards look the same to you because we keep everything organized instead of letting it look like a hillbilly junkyard.

Like I said, WE DO NOT BIG ON EACH OTHERS TRACTORS! Do you have any solid proof of this or do you just assume that we are? Please do tell me how you came to this conclusion. Are you just assuming that since the tractors are selling for more than what we paid for them that there is shill bidding going on? Get real.

So your message to ebay will go something like this: "Um ya, I think dees guys are cousins or something because I've seen them make money on ebay when selling tractors."

Not sure if it is the same but delhotaltractorresteration has a 1950 AR on ebay that they are claiming "And it is the last year they were made i wish i could find the serial number of the last one made so i could see how close to the end it is since i know its close". To bad they didn't use the serial number lookup on this forum in the research and info setion they would have found out the tractor was a 1951 and that Deere produced the AR for two more years after that. The quoted section was taken directly from the ebay ad.
