Hello guys. Got the 1500 shibaura 2 cyl. diesel ready to pull out as soon as I take the injection and hydraulic pumps off. The shop manual mentions putting wood wedges in the front axle first. I can't figure out where and what size of wedge. I plan on having a jack stand under the front bumper and one somewhere around the brace at the back of the front axle. Then I think I need a jack stand and maybe a jack under the transmission.
Just not sure what the weight balance is when I take out the 6 bolts on each side of the block. It looks to me like I would have to jack up the trans to part the engine from the transmission. This is a 4 wheel drive so there is an drive shaft running down the center below the engine so I'm not sure how that interacts with pulling the engine. I'm also not sure where to hook some pickup straps to except to wrap them around the engine. Don't want to use the head bolts.
Thanks for any help so I don't have a disaster like when I parted the IH 2606.
