Ford 2-Bottom Plow

I bought a 2-bottom 3pt plow from a guy a couple of years ago. I do believe there is a data plate on it that says Ford. He used it on his 8N. My intent was to use it with my Kubota B2710. The plow does not fit my lift arms the way it should and 2-bottoms is a bit much for my tractor. My question is would the plow be worth more trying to sell and buy something to fit my tractor or cutting the plow up and adapting into a one bottom to fit my tractor? One of the mold boards is cracked on the plow. Other than that it appears to be complete with coulters and all.

Personally I would sell it and buy what would correctly fit your bota. By the way, I had a bota L3300 4x4 Gst and it just played with the Ford 2x14 plow I had for my 8n.

I had the same problem with my 1520 Ford, with a plow not fitting correctly. I had to by a set of lift arms (ford type) and making sway chains to fit the longer lift arms. The problem I was having was the plow was to close to the tractor and would not work lifting all the way up before hitting the tractor and trash balling up between the tractor and plow.

I think if you alter it to fit your tractor you
will probably be back asking "How do I get this
plow to work right?" Better to sell it and get one
for you tractor.

Here in Northwest Ohio, two bottom Ford plows bring $200-$400.
I have a three bottom ford plow that I converted to two bottom just by unbolting and rebolting parts; no cutting necessary.

A friend has a little Kubota, seems like it's a 2715??? Maybe 2710. I don't recall for sure. But anyway, he bought a 2X12" Ford 101 plow in mint condition and chopped it all up trying to make it work on his Kubota. Ended up with a butchered plow that still didn't work, and THEN going out and buying a Leinbach plow that was built to work behind a sub compact. Save yourself a lot of grief. Your plow is worth a few bucks as it is. Sell it and get one that will fit.
