Ford 2000 with 3pt lifting trouble. In the winter it doesnt work at all. Now it shakes and jumps alittle. Changed oil to the thinner stuff seems worse. IS it the filter or pump or sticky valve?

jmducks, It sounds like it has been used low on fluid and has air in the hydraulics. How are you checking the hydraulic oil level? Should be with the three point up and the loader raised and bucket tipped {if so equipped.} Start tractor at the lowest RPM losen the middle set screw on the pump, til you have a good flow of oil. Tighten set screw and recheck hydraulic oil. John

tell us if your tractor is a 3 cylinder 2000 or a 4 cylinder 2000.
While many hydraulic problems could be shared by both models there are a lot of differences between the 2 models so it helps to know.

The tractor has a 3cyl. No loader. I recently put a rototiller on it and it worked. Why does it work sometimes? Cold it does not work. Where do i bleed it, and where should the arms be when i check levels? What all could be wrong?

Can you advise as to a appropriate oil and volume requirements for a 3 cyl gas Ford 2000? I had a small leak and drained the hydraulic/transmission oil. 8 quarts of transmission oil was somewhat milky and a little thick, oil from hydraulic resivoir was clean. Oil I removed was oil colored. the oil I bought to replace it Chevron 1000 HTF is said to be orange, any thoughts. To chech the level should i open the 2 drain plugs on the side of the crankcase and hydraulic resivoir and add oil until it flows out close it run it and test it again, bleeding if necessary. Any advice? How to know what oil is right and how much I will need.
