A few months ago we took a JD m to my folks house for my dad to putter around on for a couple hours. He has a Ford N mutt and a Cub. His neighbor asked if we could winch his Ford up on our trailer,haul it to our place and "make it run as good as your dad's". Unfortunately he said " no hurry".....well 5 months later he wasn't happy and asked us to hurry up......
. Got it running good. Tune up , carb cleaning,swapped manifold ( his was busted) and new rear rim and tire( his was rusted through with tube showing) brand new 6 volt battery, ( with a quick disconnect) fired right up in about 2-3 seconds, every time. Returned the tractor last Sunday. All good! Even got paid. Well, 6 days later we are visiting my folks, neighbor comes over. Tractor battery is dead,won't hold a charge. What happened???? Oh it stalled while box blading and I got off and went inside,left switch on. 
......can't get it started. Well. Drained the battery, likely burned up coil,points , condenser.........I told him Napa sells parts and walked away. Same battery in my previous post that was leaking a bit before I returned the tractor
