How much does a ford 3400 gas model with a loader weigh? No wheel weights, I assume loaded tires. Trying to figure out if I can haul it myself. Thanka

The tractor weight is listed in the manual at 3400 lbs. Coincidence, I guess. I have a manual for my model 730 loader but the specs don't list a weight for it. Somebody told me they weigh about 1500 lbs, but I don't know how accurate that is. According to the manual, a 75% fill with calcium solution in rear tires 12.4x28 would yield 374 lbs per tire. On the front, 6.5x16 tires would each accept 75 lbs. So a rough number would be 3400+1500+2(374)+2(75)=5,798 lbs. I hired a guy with a heavy trailer and a 3/4 ton truck to haul mine. Trip was about 1 hour 15 minutes each way, he charged me $210 which I thought was fair. I hope this helps you.

Andy, if you are new to the Ford 3400 as I am (my first tractor just got it a few weeks ago), check out this post. I found it very helpful. The ring gear rivets tend to shear off and fall into the rear differential case. This is easy to check for. If you find rivet heads in there it's a good idea to fix the issue before the ring gear comes loose and destroys the gears in the rear end.
I tried to put a link to that thread here but was unsuccessful. It can be found by searching "broken parts in rear sump".
Good luck and keep us posted on your 3400. There are lots of helpful and knowledgeable people here, and we all benefit from the shared knowledge as you work through repairs. This is a great forum. :D
