I just bought a 1964 Ford 4000, its the old style like the Jubilee or 800. I would like to know about the engine, what is the cubic inch and horsepower? My power steering cylinders are pitted bad, where can I find them? Thanks

RMS:

I too have a 64, 4 cylinder 4000. It has the 172 CI engine advertised by Ford as 50 HP and tested in the NE tests at 48.5 on the PTO.

The power steering cylinders are available aftermarket but are expensive. They may be available on this site. If not A&I has them.

Sorry, I can't find the spec sheet I was going to refer to, but as I recall both the gas and 3-cyl diesels are about 40 hp. I know I was surprised that they are almost identical in power. (I have a diesel model. When I find the sheet, I'll give the exact numbers.)
