ford 445 long tractor

Looking to buy a couple ford 445 long tractors with diesel engines .
The seller does not know what size the diesel engines are or whether they are 3 or 4 cylinder . I ask for more pics but none yet.

Anyone have any info on what engines were stock in the 70 and early 80 s that may help me. Thanks

It's LONG only, not Ford. Long made 2, 3, and 4 cylinder diesel tractors. Dealer I worked for sold a few Long 350 tractors, the 350 and 445 both used the same three cylinder diesel, injection pump was set a bit higher on the 445.

Blue paint will never make a Long, a Ford, nor will it make a New Holland a Ford. A 3010S FordNew Holland is a Long in Ford clothes. I work on tractors every day. All colors and all sizes, but the Blue Fords are my favorite and a Long is the one I hate the most.

"The seller does not know what size the diesel engines are or whether they are 3 or 4 cylinder . I ask for more pics but none yet." That smells like a scam. Is the price too good to be true?

As said the 445 Long is a Long and no parts will interchange with a Ford.

Escort Group of India was building tractors for Ford for the Asian market before Fiat purchased Fords ag division. In 1998 Escort purchased Long Agribusiness and used it to import Farmtrac tractors into the US, these tractors where a combination of Ford and Long components. Farmtrac US went bankrupt in 2008 and was purchased by Montana Tractors, Montana relabeled and sold off the remaining inventory of Farmtract tractors then discontinued those models.

I have a 2004 Farmtrac 555 that was relabeled as a 2008 Montana 555 Limited. The engine is bad and even though it looks like a Ford engine not parts will interchange with a actual Ford engine. Farmtrac parts are hard to find and most must be imported from India. A Ford 3 cylinder engine will bolt up to the trans and front axle but modifications to the power steering and hydraulic plumbing are necessary in order to complete the swap.

The 3010S was built in Mexico from 96-03 which is after the Fiat takeover, I highly doubt they used Long components to build that tractor.
My search showed the 3010S using a 165 ci engine, the only 165 engines I could find were made by Perkins and Fiat.
The 3010S is more likely a combination of Ford and Fiat components.
A large percentage of the NH tractors built today are Fiat's painted blue, none of the original design Ford components are used in the NH tractors of today that I know of.

I did not know very much about farm tractors and your help is very much appreciated. I will stick to original Ford tractors and pass on the others. Thanks to all of you for your insight !
