Ford 4500 Industrial Hydraulic Pump shaft Stripped Splin

Hydro pump stopped pumping and I heard a lot of noise. Upon inspection, the splines are stripped, as are the splines inside the hydraulic pump shaft. So the shaft was loose and making a lot of noise. I could use some advice please.

1. I was planning to replace this pump with the regular replacement. I think it's this one: https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Ford-4500_Hydraulic-Pump_D1NN600B.html

I also see a cheaper gear driven pump. Any reason to do some plumbing work to make the change to gear driven??

2. The end of the hydraulic pump shaft is stripped but the rest of the shaft is fine. is there a way to change just the end of the shaft?? I see this coupler online that should fit but I don't see how to attach it unless I cut the other one off and weld it on? https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/S340_Coupler-for-Pump-Shaft_30426.htm

I also plan to change the belt while I'm in there. Thanks!

That s a Cessna gear driven hydraulic pump, they are very popular in the loader/ backhoe industry
That one should be around 25 gpm
The yoke should be available at a hydraulic shop that deals with loader/backhoe/dump truck parts
Replace both u-joints while you have the coupler shaft out

Oh, wow. Good to know then!

Thanks, I'll look for those replacement parts and get it back up and running!
