Bought this tractor a couple years ago and looking to start restoring it a little at a time. The tag under the hood was painted over and I cannot make out the serial #, here is a picture:

I found the stamp down by the bellhousing I believe:

If I have this right it was manufactured August 23 1972 in Basildon UK?

Engine is "421994". Having a hard time finding solid details on that I believe this would be the 70HP 256 CI?

Thanks!

Yes, it's a 1972 model. Ford started using the 256 in mid 1968, so yes, that's what you have.

E1014C - 5000 ag chassis model with a diesel engine, independent 540 rpm PTO and an 8 speed transmission. As Fordfarmer said, it was assembled in 1972, so it has the 256 ci engine.
