ford 5600 fuel sending unit?

Hello been having trouble with the fuel gauge on 5600, tried 2 different dashs, first one tach was broke, thinking now maybe
sending unit on fuel, can it be gotten out of tank without taking off the first part of the hood? thanks

Yes, fuel sending unit will come out through the instrument cluster opening, no need to remove the rear hood shell.
