ford 600 overheating

well I put 15 lbs of pressure in the radiator today and let it sit for 10-12 min and it didnt lose any pressure so I guess that means there is no cracked head or block or blown head gasket however it is still reading hot on the temp gauge, my next step is to change temp gauge and if it still reads overheating I then will check and make sure the impellor is working on the water pump, any other suggestions?

I'm not sure about this but maybe 15 lbs in the rad is not enough to push coolant through the head gasket into a combustion chamber. 125 lbs + - in the combustion chamber IS enough to push air through a bad gasket into the radiator.
Keep us updated.

Let it run 10 or 15 minutes with the raditor cap OFF and watch the water flow as the thermostat opens up. Air bubbles? head or gasket, smooth flow? dirty radiator or temp guage? No flow? If it gets hot before any flow better get a new thermostat. Broken water pump shaft possible but highly unlikly

The tractor uses a 4 pound cap so 15 lb puts the tanks at risk. Before you change the gauge test the temp in the top tank with a meat thermometer.Check the timing,in short do the easy things first. My 600 bales hay in hot weather with no over heat.Last but not least a radiator covered with chaff makes a tractor overheat.

well this may be obvious but i have an 861, used to overheat. turns out there was a screen between the grill and the radiator. it had been put there many years prior and was loaded with dirt---machine ran fine after i removed it.
