I assembled the two halves of my 861 today, attaching the motor to the chassis. I still had to torque the front crankshaft bolt so I put my tractor in low gear and laid into the torque wrench to torque the main bolt to 100 ft/lbs. I was surprised to see the crankshaft turn when I approached 100 ft/lbs. I thought the transmission in gear and the clutch engaged would keep the engine from turning over. There is no pressure on the clutch pedal, so that would not contribute to the slippage. Does anyone see that I might have a problem? Now would be the time to split the case again if necessary. I did you a huge rubber block to wedge in the the ring gear to meet my torque requirements.
