Ford 8N won't start

I have a 1952 Ford 8N. I use it to plow up my "field" (it's more of an oversized garden) but i tried to get on and start it the other day and the engine started making a clicking sound. so I'm guessing that it is either the starter or solenoid?

But it could be something else. that is just my guess

Take 2 aspirin, put one on each battery post, then hook a battery charger onto the battery and leave it overnight. In the morning take the aspirin off the battery, disconnect the charger and put it away, then see if the tractor will start.

The solenoid is making a noise because of low voltage. That is likely caused by:

1. A weak battery (charge it & check it per tip # 49. Or get it load
tested.)*

2. Dirty grounds/connections (remove the cables & clean the connections)

3. Bad cables or incorrect sized cables (replace them - see tip # 41)**

4. Bad ground between the starter & the block. (pull the starter away from the block & clean the mating area - see tip # 36)

* No matter what else you do, the battery must be fully charged. (see tip # 60)

** You can't see corrosion under the insulation.
