On a Ford 8N with a firing order of 1243 where is the # 1 plug? The distributor wire ports are marked with the appropriate numbers but I am not sure if the # 1 plug starts front to back or back to front. I need help please

#1 is nearest the radiator.

Number 1 is at the front of the engine. Assuming you have a frontmount distributor (it's always helpful to say so) the cap is numbered as in the pic. Firing order is 1-2-4-3, CCW.

Just so you know and this holds true with 99% of in line engine #1 is the front of the engine as in close to the radiator very few engine are not that way so in the future if your working on something else you will know
