ford distributor

I recently bought an 8n with front distributor.i need to replace the distributor and was wondering if it can be installed 180 degrees off. I have a very weak spark.Could it be a bad coil? OR? Thanks for any help.

Why do you need to replace the distributor?? And no you can not install it 180 out unless you force it on and that will brake it. Sounds like you need to do a few simple things like new points and condenser and maybe a new coil and then go from there.

In addition to what old said, I'd also check the wireing to/from the key switch and the resistor to make sure you don't have bad connections.. Might as well dp spark plugs and plug wires.

use metal core wires.. not carbon core.. and try a hot range plug like a AL437

Thank you both for the reply. The distributor came with the tractor. I have it on and will get a new coil.
