Recently I did some contracting work for a customer and he gave me a Ford LGT 100 tractor to get rid of it. The tractor had been sitting for at least a decade. So far I took the gas tank off and found it was completely rusted through so I repaired it. The old gas valve was stuck in the off position so I purchased a new cut off valve and fuel line. The starter will engage and turn the engine over however I need to do a lot more cleaning before I attempt to start it.
My question is where can I find the serial number on this tractor so I can get an idea of the date of manufacture? Also other than changing the oil in the engine is there anything else I should do before I try to start it.
