Well, I let it go. He got down to $1300, but I don't hear it running. To me it is a parts tractor until I hear the engine start. Now I have my eye on a seventies model Ford 2000 with a fresh twenty foot paint job owned by a local company. (I won't say where, I know people who will jump in front of you. LOL) They sell their old stock that includes every used nut and bolt to a company that pays them a set price and will turn it around right on the spot and sell it to an individual. I have heard I can get it for about $2200.00 so the company won't have to haul it away. Close enough to drive it home, too. I'll get a picture on here in a couple days. This tractor was well maintained with regular service and overhauls. Very good tires.
It mostly cut grass. They have a three cylinder Ford diesel coming up soon, too.

I think you made a smart move. NAA is a great tractor but in some regards kind of an orphan.
A 3 cyl 2000 is a much better machine. And $2200 for one - if it's decent - would be bargain basement price.
Let us know if you get it.
Next best thing to getting a new tractor yourself is watching a friend get one.

If I remember what my friend told me (he is in contact with the factory guy who took care of the tractor) it is a four cylinder. The diesal is a three cylinder. What year did Ford make a four cylinder 2000? He said the decals are new, so who knows. He will try to get photos tomorrow.

I was thinking about this after I posted.
There really isn't much but a few items off the top of my head:
Bushings in the front spindles, pto hub/bearing and seal, sector gears/bushings/seals in the steering box, lower lift arms, links and leveling box, complete hydraulic block in the PS column would interchange as well as all the internal parts in it, PS cylinders, clutch disc might and I think you could put a Sherman into a 3 cyl.
We ought to start a post about this some time. Folks here could probably name quite a few other items.
Oh, and don't forget about the infamous cotter pin in the bottom of the tranny.

yep.. some items.. but it is a pretty short list.

I imagine if a 4spd tranny.. some of the gears might even go...

i believe the top cover gasket on te tranny, if a 4 spd, would be the same..
