Picked this up today. Research time!
Push lever on side forward and I have
really slow gears( I've only tried it
in 1st and reverse). Tractor runs and
drives so that really odd for me! Lol.
Got a cool tag on the hood. Also an odd
bracket under front end. Needs front
tires..... And a tune up. First tractor
I've had with a Sherman

Can't read any serial numbers at
all.......

You might try wetting it and see if numbers are visible

It's in low range. Pull back to the detent and it's in neutral. Pull all the way back and your in high. Go back to neutral and pull to the left and back. Now your in the standard range. Good Luck.

Looks to be a combo which give you 12 forward speeds. My 841S has that but it was done from the factory

You have the combo as I said. Gives you 12 forward speeds and 3 reverse. Also gives you 3 speed on the PTO. Low slow it down high speeds it up and standard if where you want it when doing anything with the pto

Spray the area off real good with carb cleaner spray then wipe it dry. Then spray some paint in the area and then wipe it off. If there are any numbers/letters stamped there the paint should stay in the low spots but the high spots it will wipe off

The serial numbers on the early NAA's were on the engine block, like the 8N's. As John Smith says on his site, it is possible for an NAA to have an early engine and a later transmission and have two different serial numbers, or a later engine and an early transmission and have no serial numbers.

If I'd realized that was a grille guard, I wouldn't have said anything about an 801 in the earlier post. That plate under the front might be for mounting some equipment. The serial number may have been eaten away by battery acid.
