hi folks , I just bought this ford yt16 and need some info please , year it was made , wear to buy parts locally here in washington state. Here are the numbers off the side plate on left side of frame , series yt16-G ,model 09GN2151 , serial # YC00685 3K13151

I don'to have any info for you but I will keep watching this post as I have a YT16H that I would like info on. Does the G instead of H mean that yours has the tecumseh instead of the briggs that mine has? Good luck in your info search.

thanks elijah , mine has a 2 cyl briggs and stratton , 16 hp

i would guess the H is for hydro and the G is for gear.i believe these were built by jacobson.you might try going to "external_link",then go to garden tractors on that that site,then go to the ford garden tractor subforum there.there are some posters there that seem to know quite a bit on these old fords.

It is a Gilson made tractor, and a lot of parts are no longer available. If you will post the model, type and code off the engine, someone or I can at least identify the year made. Probably a Ford-New holland dealer will be your best hope on getting parts or info.

thanks everyone for the very helpful replies , I have actually found a Brim Tractor dealer just a few miles from my town that is able to find parts for my yt16 , as I have already ordered a solenoid from them , thanks again. Now for my next problem , lol , with a fully charged battery , when I turn over the ignition key , nothing happens , not a sound , my first thought was the solenoid , then if that is not it i'll move toward the starter ? , thanks , Scott

It is a 1984, a New Holland dealer can get you parts, they need the 09GN2151 number off the tractor plate for tractor parts and the 09GN number off the plate on the rear of the mower deck for mower parts, engine parts can be bought at any dealer.

Yeah mine has the 16 briggs too. I guess the H on mine is for hydro. As for your starting problem, I would guess corroded connection or bad solenoid. good luck
