Fordson Model N - 1935

This tractor was restored several years ago and is frequently taken to the different vintage tractor rallies here in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. This tractor was built by Ford at their plant at Dagenhan, England and was a very popular tractor here in Australia. The steel wheel lugs rere removed and old tyre tread fitted to give safer travel over all surfaces. This photo was taken at The Highfields Pioneer Park display at the Toowoomba Ag-Fest machinery show. Specifications; Bore - 4.125, Stroke - 5, Capacity - 267 cu.inches. Horsepower; 29 hp engine / 23 hp belt at 1100 RPM Drawbar pull - 3200 lbs at 1.9 mph. Fuel; Petrol / power kerosene. Air cleaner - water washer type. Clutch; Oil bath plate type running in engine oil. Gears; 3 forward / 1 reverse. Weight; 3,300 lbs approx. The Fordson 'N' was first manufactured in Cork, Ireland from 1929 to 1932 after the withdraw of sale of the grand-daddy of all mass produced tractors, the 'F' Fordson in 1928 following a period of un-ease between Henry Ford and his dealers. In 1933, the first 'N' was built in Dagenhan, England where production of this model continued until June, 1945 when the Fordson E27N commenced production.
