How fresh does gas have to be? I can put just about any old gas in my old gray mare and it runs very well. Of course it was designed that way. However my persnikity chain saws must have the very freshest thing I can give them, stabilized or not. They sure are fussy about what they will run on. I've always found small displacement 2 stroke motors to be quite finiky and I think the newer blend gas products don't hold up well and especially when stored in less than ideal conditons. I dump old gas in the N which is diluted of course and run it out. Never had a problem. The low rpm low compression motor doesn't really seem to care much.

It has been awhile since I ran my "surplus" mower engines since last summer. JD116, Craftsman 16hsp. etc.

Right now I have to "dip" the tanks, betcha, like always, there will be some water in the tanks.

Gotta get 'em ready for WINTER STORAGE. Remove the batteries, drain the tanks, etc. And, start'em to clean out the carbs.

Thanks again John,PA

Marine sta-bil will help, but I start my N every 2-3 days and run it 15 mins or so,and use it every so often throughout the winter,so I keep it full with treated gas.---lha
