front axle support

53 jubilee, well, thought I was going to be up and running soon when UPS delivered what was described to me as a real good used piece, by Mainetractor parts. When I opened it , I noticed one radiator bolt hole was an inch and a half back further than other side and bent down, I thought , ah, I can probably straighten it easy enough, then, when I flip it over to put in vise, what do I see? A 1 inch crack!! Why would you ship that out as GOOD! getting real upset. If anyone knows someone who deals honestly in used parts, I could use some help finding this piece. Here I thought I would be running by the mweek-end, thanks for any leads, Tom

Tom

You called me and I sent a return ticket the same day. I am sorry you are not happy with the part and I will refund your money as soon as I get the part back.

Sorry for the inconvience

Scott

No problem, it just sets me back, i can straighten a bent piece, but didn't think I should have to weld up crack, when that's what I was thinking I would have to do to the one I have. Sometimes things get overlooked, I understand, Tom

not saying anything bad, just got a part that wasn't as described, mark, sometimes things slip throw the cracks, i guess

Thanks Hobo, I'm almost wondering if I should just weld the old one, but if you take it off and it's as it should be, I would buy it, thanks again, tom

I went to AutoZone, and bought a new heater core for my '88 Blazer, it has probably been over a year ago.
Brought it home, and got my Ole Ladys son to help me change it, and filled her back up.
Took a ride around the property, and it was starting to get hot, then I noticed coolant pouring in the floorboard.
Pulled it back out, and right under a sticker that said "Inspected by #2" was a crack about an inch long, just about the same length as the sticker.
It leaked worse than the one I took out.
Took it back, and it was the only one they had.
Went to another parts store and got one, same brand, but no crack.
same, "Inspected by #2"
The way it looked, the person that put on the sticker, had to have been able to see the crack, and put it over it.

Hard to believe someone would send you that part.
To me a thing like that is not worth a trip to the PO or UPS to ship and then get returned.
I would have inspected it thouroughly before packing it up.
I would feel responsible to pay for return shipping plus give you a full refund.
I've never bought a thing from Hobo but I know his checks are good. His parts are probably good too.
If nothing else he's at least smart enough to look a part over before he ships the darned thing.

Got it off,,, the pin threads are worn out on one side,,, they will need repaired so going to keep it and fix it when I get the time for one of my junkers ... I don't have the time now to break up a parts tractor just for the front support.. sorry

Thanks anyway, Hobo. I am firing up the welder this afternoon, but if you do come acrossed a good one in the future, keep me in mind, probably need it, Tom
