Yesterday's Tractor Forums
I supported mine (TO-20) underneath the transmission, just behind the clutch area; used a wood block on top of a jack stand. Be careful, don't ever use concrete block, use hardwood which is sound and/or a heavy jack stand.
 
As mentioned, jack from under tranny/bellhousing, but ALSO block under oil pan (engine) as a saftey precaution. (Carry bulk of load under tranny)
