front dozer blade

Been a few postings lately on the front blades. This is the one I use. I have double ring chains on turf tires. Works really good in northwest Ohio on my 52 8N. Thanks to the guys for helping me get the picture posted.

simple but it works i like the fact that it bolts to the rear and not the front axle nice job

The front hangs from the big pin that goes thru the front axle. As seen in the picture, needs a little cleaning up from the previous owner.

bair what keeps the front end(plow) from twisting back and forth do you have dowm supports on front axle?

The top bolt in the previous pic. is bolted thru the steel (cradle) under the crank pulley. The tube frame is attatched to the bracket in this pic. I may be mistaken but I think Old Hokie told me this was a dearborn type bracket on the front. He actaully made the triangle shaped bracket for me with the axle pin attached. Its really solid when all bolted together.

That looks really close to the rig I use to clear snow with.

I dont know the make of it and some parts appear to be homemade or modified. CJ, bought this up around Flint Mi. 150.00

Good deal. Mine really moves snow. I'll post some pics when I put it on for the season. 60-70 degrees here in SW Michigan, don't imagine that is a trend which will last too long though-

POOR BOY in the frist picture at the end of the frame theres a square plate with fore holes that bolts to bottom of rear under PTO look at yours and you will see how it works

I use a woods belly mower on miner and did take it off. Have not put the blade on yet either. Would like to see a picture of yours.

I dont have a drawbar. The back of the frame attaches under the rearend and this bracket bolts around the pto. A cable runs from the 3 point to the front bracket ( attached to the axle pin ) and then goes to the blade.

Pretty interesting setup. I assume most of it is home made. So the front bracket carries the front of the frame Yes?
Does the frame sit on top of the bracket or bolt underneath?
Looks like you have to loosen a bolt to change the angle of the blade?
If so I would modify that and use a pin instead.
Amazing how much snow one of these little Ns will push aint it?
I'll be looking forward to seeing some pics of it mounted and in use.

Mounted the blade last night. I think that a lot is home made. The pics show how it is mounted to the front. The tube frame runs to the back and is bolted under the rearend. I am going to remove some of the thick steel that is welded on the front to lighten it up and allow my bumper to be on. Works well the way it is but does need some work to make it look better.
