Front-Loader for Oliver 1550

Can anyone tell me where to get a used front-loader for an Oliver 1550? My 1550 has two remote controls for hydrolics, but I've never used them. Can I control a front loader with these?

I controlled my loader with the remotes for awhile, but it doesn't work very well because the remote flow is either "on" or "off", with no in between for feathering the loader. You can use the "power beyond" feature by hooking up a standard loader valve- someone will have the specifics on how to hook it up.

I am also putting a loader on a 1550.It is a DuaL 325 and has its own set of valves. My tractor valves put out 2100 psi but is there enough flow at the power beond for a loader. Also the loader will draw up to 2 gallons out of the resevoir. Is there enough oil capacity without an external tank?

Mine worked fine with the power beyond- speed was just about right (but it was an Oliver loader, presumably designed for the tractor). Volume shouldn't be a problem if the loader cylinders are power both ways (oil goes back to the reservior from the back of the piston at the same rate as it pumped into the power side)- but may have to add capacity if its power up only.

Thanks for your comments. Use of the "power-beyond" features sounds like a good way to go. I did some digging into my manuals and found mention of an in-line restrictor valve used to slow the lowering speed of cylinders. I wonder if that would work in the upward direction too?

If anyone knows of any old front loader brands that would fit a 1550 I"d like to know. Thx.

Good thread because I'd like to add a loader to my 1550 too. But I've almost given up trying to find one around where I live. I was told an Allied 595 would work provided Oliver mounting brackets could be obtained. Maybe I'll be surprised some day and something will turn up or I'll learn some new way to get it done. Meanwhile I still really like my 1550 just the way it is.

I have a 1550 diesel utility with a 1610 Oliver loader on it. I also have the Oliver 1610 manual that shows how to mount this same loader on a variety of Allis Chalmers, Case, Ford, Farmall, JD, MF and MM tractors. I'm quite sure this loader was built for a number of manufacturers by Schwartz. In other words, you don't have to find an Oliver loader--find an older Schwartz and you might find it being sold under several different names and models.

I got the dual mounted on the 1550 today. It took some welding and engineering to make it fit. I still plan on using the power beyond but for now I plugged the hoses from the loader valve into the tractor outlet and locked that so that the loader valve controls the loader. It goes up and down very smooth. Now I have to tighten or replace the leaking seals in the loader cylinders.

I have a Koyker Super K on my 1550,,dont really understand all that power beyond stuff. Mine works fine off the remotes and controls that came with the tractor.

It appears you are located in Nebraska. True? I would be interested except for the distance from here in E. Washington state. Also, I'm not sure what the bare loader weighs if one were to be calculating a trailer load.
