Frontier, Woods or Other Attachments

I am new to the tractor world and looking for advise on what to buy for attachments. If any one has any preference as far as brands? Frontier, Woods or other brands I don"t know about?
Thanks to all. Chris

Frontier is a John Deere company that markets attachments made by other companies such as Woods with the JD green and serial number. I bought a medium duty Frontier box scraper and on the back of the manual it even says Woods. Most of the frontier stuff is well made. On the same token there are different classes of implements between light and medium to heavy duty even in Frontier. It would help to know what tractor you are looking for implements for. There are lots and some that aren't worth buying. Dave

Just because it says JD on it doesn't mean much any longer, either. I was down at the local Deere dealer and noticed that their light weight bush hog's gear box was stamped "Made in China", caveat emptor!

I have 2 Woods implements...a 7' grader blade and a RM 660 finish mower. The blade has held up well enough and the mower is so-so. I had a Caroni finish mower for 20+ years prior to the Woods and can't say enough good things about it. The second deck finally rusted through and I couldn't find a replacement. I am sure that had I kept it shedded, it would still be mowing as the spindles and gear box are still fine. I just have more equipment than shed space. My old bushhog is a New Holland...even the dealer told me they never made one...but I have one just the same. It's about 50 years old! I like older Ford implements, especially their plows. I also have a Ford wheel disc...it's a good machine, butfor a pick up disc, the old Massey adjustable discs are top drawer, if you can find that isn't worn out. They cost beaucoup bucks to rebuild. If you're buying new stuff...I don't know what to tell you, my pockets aren't deep enough to afford new equipment.

I have a woods tiller and backhoe and they are very good. I also have had landpride mowers and found them very good too. I am selling some of mine. I'm in Ohio send me an email.

Woods and Bush-Hog are top brands. You can'tr go wrong with them, altho they are somewhat pricier than some other brandcs. They offer a full line, including backhoes.

To 135 Fan.
I have a J.D. 4120 (43hp). I am looking for a medium duty box blade and a medium duty grader blade. Also I am looking for a standard duty york rake. Thanks...
Chris
