Frozen top link on 4430.

I just got a nice 4430 with a three point top link that won't adjust. What do I need heat, oil? Anybody located around Richfield Spring, NY on this site. Thanks for your time.

My top link on the 4320 was froze. I took it off and standing it on end, gave it a shot of diesel fuel every time I walked by. It wasn't long, and it would turn. This might work for you.

Stand it on end and heat the top half of the adjustment area. Then melt bees wax down into the threads. Turn it right side up and repeat. Then tell us if it worked.

I like the diesel fuel idea. Never tried it, but it sounds like it'd work.

I've broken loose several frozen top links much the same way that others here have. Lots of heat, vice, cheater pipe, etc. Then wire wheel the rust and put antisieze on it.

heat is the only thing I"ve ever been successful with and a vise where you can hold. If you can get it to move back and forth then more heat. All that crude will finally break out of the unit....when I mean heat, I"m talking cherry red....
