Fuel gauge positive ground

Hi, I bought a new fuel gauge because my old one didn't work and is in bad shape. I ordered from the Yesterday's Tractor Co website. They had a choice of a guage for a 135 UK version, or for a 135 with a positive ground. I got the positive ground version, and when I got it it has 3 terminals instead of the 2 I have seen in all the wiring diagrams. It has a "B" terminal, a "T" terminal, and a terminal that says 12V (then it has the symbol for ground). Do I need to send this one back and get a different one (does anybody know where else I can find one), or does somebody know how I need to hook it up?

Does your tractor have a positive ground?

If so, you should be ok, but most late model tractors have negitive ground electrical systems.

If yours is negitive, send it back.

Maybe the positive ground means an external ground wire instead of actually being a positive ground gauge? Dave

Hi, my tractor is a negative ground. I bought the positive ground because my other choice was the UK version (which I would have thought would be the postive ground), so I thought maybe the fuel gauges were different. Thanks for the responses. Matt

I talked to my father in law and he said pretty much the same thing as Dave, so I may hook it up and see what happens. Matt

Check your sending units Ohms resistance range. I bought a new sending unit for my 1100 through MF and it came marked with the resistance range. When you go to the auto parts store for your new gage use the Ohms resistance to match the gage to the sending unit. I think I will need a Mopar type unit when I replace mine.
