Fuel shut off valve

I am in the middle of giving my 1950 8N a new paint/body/engine overhaul. I took the fuel tank out and was going to have it boiled out down at the local radiator shop. Should I remove the fuel shut off pecock from the tank?s I assume it is threaded into the bottom of the tank? I am worried that being this old I will have problems installing a new one. Love to hear any ideas.

Definitely yes,,, while you have it off take the bowl off and drop the hole assy in a jar of brake fluid along with the bowl,,, leave a week and hose off with water,,, it will B clean as new,,, seal the threads with loctite flange sealant,,, make up a new fuel line its probably in bad condition also

I don't know why one would boil a fuel tank less they planed on having a liner installed in it,,, if the tank were that bad/rusty it needs replacing,,, why continue to fight dirty fuel,,, rust will hunt ya down for a fight every time and win

Yeah.. the tap screws right out... and screws right back in...easy as pie..
