I've been driving past these and finally stopped on to get their story... The owner used to be an Oliver and Deutz dealer, nice couple, they let me ramble through their fields snapping pics.

They are on the South side of Atlanta, he has 6-8 Olivers, a Gleaner, and a Minnieappolis Moline. He also has 10-15 old tractors.
I don't believe he is interested in selling, and definately, definately not for scrap. I will ask him next time I see him if it is okay to give out his number. Where are you located?

That AC cotton picker looks interesting and is probably very rare as I doubt there are many old AC pickers around.

He has three pickers that I know of, two AC's one is a d-17, I couldn't get close to the third, so I don't know what it is... great guy, most of his equipment is full of memories, he spends his time making sure the motors stay loose, thats a full time job being that he has alot of stuff. Even an old reo truck that he has gotted running again.

Harold - I've read lots of your posts doing some cotton picker research on an old IH 420 we have on our place in Arkansas. (Final drives were cut off of the main axle support beam with a torch - It'd be quite a project if ever attempted.)

That one AC cotton picker kinda reminded of the Ben Pearson "Rust" pickers that I saw occasionally as a kid in southern Arkansas. You ever seen any of those, or got any pictures? Seems I remember the the small "guide" wheel being much further forward than the IHs and JDs - kinda like this AC.

By the way, that drums on that picker seem much shorter than what I've seen in the MS and AR delta.

That makes two of those ac cotton pickers i have ever seen.There is another one sitting in a junk yard near wrens ga that i saw a few years ago.They must be about rare as hens teeth.One of these days im going to get back there and take some pics.

I'm up in Clayton,WI I have 2 allis cotton pickers one is a 616 the other is a one row that mounts either on a CA or a WD. I' looking for parts and operaters manuals for them
